Meeples. ^^v

It’s Saturday night ! Time to have fun. :D Instead of going for basketball night, we changed our plan to something with lesser physical movement and more to mental exercise. XD And here we are in Meeples – an European Board Game Cafe. It is located on First Floor above Face To Face Noodle Shop in SS 15, Subang Jaya. :)

However, you can always subscribe yourself to be a member with an annual subscription fee of RM 60 at any Meeple counter. o.o Besides having discounted price on gaming hours, members also have discounts on food and beverages ordered in the Meeple Cafe. Other than that, Meeples also sell board games to their customers. And of course, members can obtain them at a cheaper price. :)

There are many European board games available in Meeples. If you do not know any, you can always asks the worker for suggestions. The worker will recommend you a few choices of board games available according to the number of players you have. Besides, the worker will be there to guide you on the rules of the games.

Last night, we tried a few board games including First Hand, Snorta, Saboteur, Panic Tower and Blokus. First Hand and Snorta are speed games which means the faster player will win the game. In First Hand, the players will have to do poses using their hands by following the picture on the cards. The slowest player will take the card. By the end of the game, the player with the most card will lose.

For Snorta, each player will draw an animal, show it to the other player and hide it in a barn. Each player is given an equal amount of cards and each will take turn to put a card down. When there’s two card with the same pictures, the 2 players will compete to make sound of the opponent’s animal. The slower player or the player who made the wrong sound, will take the card. Like First Hand, the player with the most cards will be the loser. Likewise, the first person who finishes his/her card will be the winner

Saboteur was an interesting game. There are 2 types of characters – The Miner and The Saboteur. The Miners’ objective is to work together to build a pathway to their gold whereas the Saboteurs’ objective is to prevent the Miners from getting the gold. The fun part of the game is, every player will have to hide their identity and you wouldn't know who is the Miner and who is the Saboteur. Be careful of jailing the wrong person ! :) Crys tried both characters and it was fun. :P

For Panic Tower, it was a building game. Each player will take turns to draw a card and build the tower following the card’s instruction. The player who topples the tower will receive a ‘Loser Token’. The game ends when a player have 3 loser tokens in his hand. The fun part is, you can try to make a slanted tower in order to make the player after you lose. In this game, the key to success is a steady hand. Lol. Crys was lucky not to have any loser token. :D

Here’s another board game that crys had tried last night – Blokus. It is more to a strategy game. Crys loves strategy games because it uses intelligence. :P However, crys doesn’t have enough intelligence to win the game. LOL !

 Blokus

Blokus is a game for 4 players. Each player will pick a colour among the four – Green, Blue, Red and Yellow.

Each player will receive 21 pieces with different shapes. And the objective of the game is to put as many pieces as possible (if not all) into the game board with 400 square spaces. Each player must begin at the corner of the board and each new piece that is placed on the board must touch another piece of the same colour but it can only touch at the corners or edges, never along the sides. However, the pieces can touch the sides of another piece of different colour. Example:

When a player is blocked and can no longer place any pieces on the board, he/she must miss the turn. The other players continue in the normal order of play until no one can place any more pieces on the board. By the end of the game, the player with the less squares win.
