Shanghai Trip Day 2

Day 2 [17th June 2010] :

Crys woke up a little late today because crys was too tired. Crys went to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition. It was very crowded there but surprisingly most of the visitors were locals. Crys expected more foreigners since it is an international exhibition. As crys said earlier, it was very inconsiderate that most of the wordings in the Expo Exhibition were in Chinese including the Expo guide map. Plus, most locals couldn't speak the international language - English. Crys wondered if that is the reason that only a handful of foreigners showed up.

Firstly, we went to the CSSC where we queued for an hour before entering the building. This is what crys came out with during the very long queue.

8 Main Items to bring to Expo:

1. Portable Chair
- to sit on when you’re tired.

2. Water Bottle
- to fill water and drink when you’re thirsty.

3. Finger Food
- to eat during long queue.

4. Umbrella
- to cover you from UV light.

5. Fan
- it’s hot.

6. Comfortable Walking Shoes
- you have to walk a lot.

7. MP3 / iPod
- for entertainment during long queues.

8. Handphone
- to contact others when you’re lost.

Crys went to see the Expo pavilion built by different countries. Japan and Espana were some of the countries that had the longest queue which was around 6 hours of waiting time. Of course crys didn't want to waste that much time in queuing, therefore we went to other countries with shorter queues. Crys didn't forget to visit Malaysia's Pavilion which was built in a Minangkabau style. The things displayed in the pavilion was quite nice. The worst part of the Malaysia's Pavilion was the Malaysia's Restaurant. We ordered Curry Laksa but it tasted weird. Honestly, it was really awful. Crys's papa went to complain about the food which spoils our country's reputation and found out that the chef was actually a China Chinese instead of a Malaysian. =.= It shouldn't be hard to invite a chef from Malaysia to cook in the Expo, right? How disappointed. However, the Chinese locals who doesn't know the true taste of the curry laksa, finds it tasty.

Anyway, an unknown lady accidentally grabbed crys’s papa’s hand and mistaken him as one of her friend. Lolx! XD

We had our dinner in a Germany Restaurant. After the bad experience, papa actually asked the workers whether their chef was from Germany. And thankfully, yes. We had quite a yummy dinner. Crys's camera ran out of battery because there were too many pictures to capture. Crys hope that it doesn't ran out of memory before the trip ends. Due to insufficient battery, most of the pictures of the pretty pavilion were captured using crys's uncle's camera. Please send the photoes to crys or upload them in Facebook pretty please :) Crys will upload those pictures on bloggiex if crys can get them.

Today's weather was quite windy and cool because there was a little rain. So, we didn't sweat that much even though we had to walk a lot. :D Looks like the Shanghai trip can encourage crys to exercise more. Lolx !
